How To Build A Solar Panel – Part 12

Watch in HD www.solartechtown.com I, Robert Smith, show you every step I take to building a custom made solar panel from scratch. I explain in detail about each item I use and why to use it, so the video is fairly long. I will be hosting the majority of the video on my own server so you can view it all in one take. It will take time to edit the video, but the more of you that subscribe to the video, the faster I'll try to get it out to you guys as it just shows that people are interested and appreciate what I'm doing, as I'm providing this video for free unlike some videos you see on YouTube. The method I described in this video is just one way to go about it, however, there are many ways you can build a custom solar panel. Some use aluminum or plastic frames, but I found for a beginner, working with wood would probably be easier and cheaper. Overall, building a solar panel can be fun, but there are many factors that play into building a solar panel, and I as well still have an extreme amount to still learn about it. So I hope that for those wanting to learn more about solar energy and wanting to take the adventure of building their own solar panel will find this video very useful. This is the final part of my Solar Panel DIY job. You'll need: Solar Cells (The 0.5 volt / 3.6 Amp type) Soldering Iron 2 x Perspex sheets at least 3mm thick EVA material Araldite or silicon sealant Heat Gun / Hair Dryer Material for making plastic or wooden 'beading' This part will be covering the EVA application, making the 'beading', perspex fixing, environmentally sealing, confirmation voltages and the grand unveiling

As the world's population has been significantly increase on a yearly basis, the effective use of electricity have been put in the limelight once more. These electricity which is produced by what we termed technology are being enjoyed by most nation, but considered are usually depleting as time passes by. It is believed that the original source of its power is fixed only and worst of it, these electricity has been proven that it increases the problems that other burning fossil fuels is doing on our planet Earth. Lots of people today leans towards a clean living and an eco-friendly environment, that's make them to look for alternative source of electricity for their everyday use. Before this problem regarding energy becomes an international problems, the ever reliable technology once again proved its value, by introducing to us the solar cell power. It's what many experts believe that it will not just be an alternative power source but it can be the replacement of the electricity that is been slaving us for many years.
Before you can relate to this solar thing, one ought to fully understand what it is and ways in which does it function. For everyone we know, the use of solar power has reached your awareness of many people for countless years now. In fact, many individuals now are beginning to practice its use within their business and even in their homes. Several countries are beginning to invest in distinct research to further produce the use of this solar power. The concept of the solar cell power is made possible through the genius mind of Albert Einstein, actually there are 2 experts ahead of him but he is the one that defined it and proved the theory behind what he called the Photoelectric Effect. His work has won him the Noble Prize 1921 in Theoretical Physics.
In Einstein's' word, to describe it how does it work will be a little bit complicated and hard to understand for an average people. To put it in simple words, this solar power cell is made up of two layers, the N-type or the negative protons and the P-type silicon that is the positive protons. They are just like a sandwich that when put together will create a barrier that allows no electrons to cross. But this solar cell when exposed in sunlight, the energy of its photons that entered the two layer like sandwich, give its energy to the atoms of the silicon which causes the P-type silicon to remove on its place therefore allowing the entry of electrons that produces electricity. And to sum it up it further, the more light which solar cell gets, the more electricity it will produce.
One application of this solar cell power that a lot of people found very useful is the solar cell phone charger. This particular charger that works via the light that is being generated on it has also battery on it. These types of batteries served because storage for the generated light, which can be utilized by the cell phones, blocking the damage that might take place usually when it is overcharged. Its' asking for time is the same as the standard charger does, however its performance after vary because it needs a wide range of sunlight in order to function better. This won't be a problem because some of these products had this suction cup attachment that you could attach on it. These types of solar cell rechargers can fit any kinds of cell phones as a consequence of it being universal type.
But certainly, lack of exposure throughout sunlight is the drawback of this solar based product.
As the usage of this solar cell power is slowly increasing, many feel that it will be the long lasting source of our power in the near future, the electrical energy that slaved us for many years has finally found its match, it might not be that always be perfect, because it has its setback but still it promises a lot of good things in terms of being eco-friendly and waste- free. This makes this bit of technology worth to learn.
